Product details
The 12mm/3.1 is a full-frame fisheye lens that excels across the entire image area. With a diagonal field of view of approximately 180° on full-frame, it offers an enormous image field. It is perfectly suited for wide shots, interiors, and tight spaces, as well as for reporting in such locations. The lens brings the subject into the right light. With a maximum aperture of T 3.1, the lens has a large initial light intensity. Due to its short focal length and low reproduction scale, it features a very large depth of field. For videography, the aperture can be adjusted smoothly from 3.1 to 22, and the focus adjustment is soft and easy to operate. This allows for smooth focus pulling, especially during video recordings. The aperture and focus rings are equipped with a gear rim, making them optimized for use with follow focus systems, which simplifies filming. For better readability, the distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side. The lens is internally focused with a minimum focusing distance of approximately 20 centimeters. The optical design consists of 12 lenses in 8 groups, which is very elaborate and promises excellent imaging performance. The multi-coating of all lenses used in the lens is standard for walimex pro. It allows for higher light transmission, better color reproduction, and increased contrast. Additionally, a glass surface is coated with the NCS Nano Coating System, promising even more brilliant imaging. Save time in post-processing. Many lens errors such as distortion, edge softness, or vignetting occur in the outer areas of the image. When using a lens designed for full-frame on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not utilized. This ensures maximum quality, eliminating the need for additional post-processing time to correct lens errors.
