Mit Blende 1,4 gehört das 58er für 580 Euro ohne AF zu den sehr lichtstarken Normalbrennweiten, hier an einer Nikon-KB-Kamera getestet. Bei Blende 1,4 fallen Kontrast und Auflösung zu niedrig aus und dies bereits in der Bildmitte. Bei Blende 2,8 ist es nutzbar, aber noch nicht gut. Überzeugen kann uns erst Blende 5,6 - das ist uns bei einem 58er zu wenig und kostet die Empfehlung.
