It covers the entire image area and achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1:1 without additional attachments. The elaborate lens construction with floating elements (a total of three lens groups) ensures consistently high imaging performance across the entire focus range, which is particularly noticeable in macro shots. With the apochromatic correction of the lens, color errors and chromatic fringes at sharp edges are minimized, resulting in a natural representation of all details.

The 110 mm focal length not only provides a good working distance to subjects for macro photography but is also well-suited for portrait shots. Another attractive feature is the ability to produce images with a strong bokeh effect, made possible by the 110 mm focal length and a maximum aperture of F2.5. Focus and aperture are manually adjusted, but the lens also has electrical contacts that allow the lens settings to be recorded in the Exif information of the image data during capture.
