Optical discs are among the most reliable media for archiving your data. Unfortunately, many laptop manufacturers choose to omit optical drives in favour of slimmer designs. Verbatim offers a solution with its 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray burner. Use it to create backup copies of important files that you don’t want to lose, such as family photos, videos and accounting documents.

Watch your 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs with this external Blu-ray player. It is barely larger than a Blu-ray disc itself and is powered via USB, so it requires no additional mains adapter, making it easy to carry around.

The award-winning Nero Burn and Archive software included in the package offers numerous special features such as DiscSpan, MediaHome and SecureDisc technology to help you organise, burn and archive your important files. Various streaming options, including the Nero Streaming Player app, allow you to view your films, photos, slideshows and other media on devices such as smartphones, tablets and smart TVs. You can even add password protection for extra security and an electronic signature to indicate copyright ownership.

Burn a standard DVD at 8x speed, a single-layer and double-layer Blu-ray Disc at 6x, and a BDXL disc at 4x. The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray burner supports buffer underrun protection to prevent issues during the burning process.

The Blu-ray burner supports Zero Power ODD (Optical Disc Drive), which reduces the optical drive’s power consumption in the operating system to zero when the drive is not in use.

Note: The software player for playing DVD/Blu-ray films is not included.

Das war knapp: Der Asus ZenDrive SDRW-08U9M-U siegte in diesem Vergleichstest: Er bot das höchste Tempo, arbeitete schön leise und sieht auch noch schick aus. Für 15 Euro weniger gibt es den Preis- Leistungs-Sieger: Der Gembird DVD-USB-03-BW Externer DVD- Brenner werkelt zwar beim Brennen und Abspielen etwas lauter als der Testsieger, leistete sich in den restlichen Prüfungen aber keine großen Schwächen.
