Venus Optic Laowa 105mm f/2 STF Canon

The LAOWA 105mm f/2 (T3.2) STF lens is a highly sharp portrait lens with beautiful bokeh. STF stands for Smooth Trans Focus. In addition to the aperture with 14 blades, which creates a circular aperture opening, the lens features a second aperture element with 8 blades. This extraordinary optical design causes the distracting diffraction rings around the image points to disappear. As a result, soft transitions in the out-of-focus areas of the lens are created. A separate ring allows for the variation of this naturally appearing and beautiful diffuse blur (bokeh) independently from the aperture setting. This also makes the transition from the sharp to the out-of-focus area smoother. The larger the aperture, the stronger this effect becomes.

The high-quality metal housing contains 11 elements in 8 groups, including 1 HFR (high refractive) element, 3 LD (low dispersion) elements, and 1 APD (apodization) element. This optical design results in photos with extremely high sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration. Aperture and focus adjustments are made manually.
