Ubiquiti Amplifi Mesh Router

Description

Powerful mesh router with refreshingly modern design
The AmpliFi Router combines an elegant design with state-of-the-art mesh networking technology. When used with other AmpliFi routers or AmpliFi MeshPoints, it can easily provide medium and large homes with the fastest wireless performance. But it is also suitable as a standalone router for smaller apartments.

A real eye-catcher
The AmpliFi AFi-R differs from standard routers in its design. The compact white cube looks good in any home, whether presented on a coffee table or hidden in the frame. Bulky antennas are not found on the AmpliFi Router. The 1.6" touch display on the front panel shows the time or transmission speed of the network as desired. A white LED strip on the underside additionally visualizes the activities of the router.

Efficient inner workings
The AmpliFi AFi-R is in no way inferior to conventional routers when it comes to technical equipment. The compact housing houses a powerful dual-band antenna, via which transmission speeds of up to 1750 Mbps gross are possible. Four Gigabit LAN ports and a WAN interface provide wired connectivity.

mesh networking
The AmpliFi AFi-R can be used in combination with other AFi routers or AFi-P-HD MeshPoints in "Mesh Mode". Thanks to mesh technology, the WLAN signal reaches every corner even in larger apartments without large losses. You benefit from high coverage and improved redundancy. Also, reducing the distance between mesh access points increases the data rate.

Easy setup and management with the AmpliFi App
The intuitive AmpliFi app for Android and iOS smartphones allows you to easily and quickly setup all AmpliFi network devices. Create a guest network or view the status of your network in a clear report. And if you still have problems, a global 24/7 live chat support is available in the app.

Routers

A router is a device that forwards data packets between computer networks, creating an overlay internetwork. A router is connected to two or more data lines from different networks. When a data packet comes in one of the lines, the router reads the address information in the packet to determine its ultimate destination. Then, using information in its routing table or routing policy, it directs the packet to the next network on its journey. Routers perform the "traffic directing" functions on the Internet. A data packet is typically forwarded from one router to another through the networks that constitute the internetwork until it gets to its destination node.

802.11b

802.11b has a maximum raw data rate of 11 Mbit/s and uses the same media access method defined in the original standard. 802.11b products appeared on the market in early 2000, since 802.11b is a direct extension of the modulation technique defined in the original standard. The dramatic increase in throughput of 802.11b (compared to the original standard) along with simultaneous substantial price reductions led to the rapid acceptance of 802.11b as the definitive wireless LAN technology.

WPA2-PSK

The advanced protocol, certified through Wi-Fi Alliance's WPA2 program, implements the mandatory elements of 802.11i. In particular, it introduces a new AES-based algorithm, CCMP, that is considered fully secure. From March 13, 2006, WPA2 certification is mandatory for all new devices wishing to be certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance as "Wi-Fi CERTIFIED." PSK means that it is only for Pre-Shared-Key mode.

Power supply

A power supply is a device that supplies electrical energy to one or more electric loads. The term is most commonly applied to devices that convert one form of electrical energy to another, though it may also refer to devices that convert another form of energy (e.g., mechanical, chemical, solar) to electrical energy. A regulated power supply is one that controls the output voltage or current to a specific value; the controlled value is held nearly constant despite variations in either load current or the voltage supplied by the power supply's energy source.

If I connect this router to the Wingo Fiber router 1Gbps speed will take advantage of this speed? I just read in an answer below it only reaches 450 Mbps?, maybe I understood wrong.

As far as i understood correctly the full speed over the Ethernet connection was only available when in Bridge Mode earlier. As far as i know, this has been corrected with firmware version 2.6.0 (Currently at 2.6.3) by enabling Hardware NAT.

Ist ein Schweizer Stecker nun mit dabei?

Accepted answer

Amplifi Mesh Router

Einfach einzurichten, stabiler Betrieb, Top Performance
