Topping DX9 Discrete

The Topping DX9 Discrete is a fully symmetrical desktop DAC with an integrated headphone amplifier and preamp. It is designed for the highest sound precision and maximum power reserves. The core of the device is the newly developed 16-element PSRM architecture per channel: a discretely built 1-bit decoding design with ultra-fast switching logic and precise voltage reference. Thanks to the consistently separated, noise-optimized resistor power supply, the DX9 Discrete achieves excellent signal purity with a dynamic range of up to 131 dB and a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of up to 131 dB, as well as low distortion values of up to 0.00006% THD+N at the XLR output. A CPLD combined with a high-precision clock ensures a two-stage jitter suppression at reference level, while the AK4118 receiver processes PCM up to 768 kHz and DSD512. The proprietary I/V stage is specifically tuned to the PSRM structure, combining low-noise discrete components with low-distortion operational amplifiers to achieve maximum dynamics and authenticity. The fully symmetrical NFCA headphone amplification in a discrete six-channel configuration delivers up to 7,080 mW at 32 ohms (balanced) and remains controlled and low-distortion even at the highest levels. A hybrid, relay-controlled resistor volume control ensures precise channel matching and the highest fine dynamics. Even the most demanding magnetostatic and high-impedance reference headphones are driven with sovereign control, high current delivery capability, and impressive impulse fidelity. With tenfold parametric PEQ, HRTF-based crossfeed function, and high-resolution Bluetooth connectivity including LDAC and aptX Adaptive, the DX9 Discrete combines uncompromising measurement technology with practical flexibility. The result is a commanding control center that unites studio transparency, spatial precision, and audiophile control at reference level.
