TetherBlock Arca, Graphite - The TetherBlock QR Plus Quick Release Plate in Thunder Grey from Tether Tools is designed to adapt a camera to an Arca-compatible quick release clamp while preventing damage to the camera's data port when connected to a computer or hard drive. On the top of the QR Plus, along the 1/4"-20 mounting and non-slip pads, there are channels that guide a section of a data cable from one end of the plate to the other before the plate is attached to a compatible camera. This allows a USB or FireWire cable connected to the camera's data port for tethered photography to be secured under the camera and within the QR Plus. The channels relieve tension in the cable that could arise from accidental pulling or tripping. This prevents strain from abrupt or awkwardly angled disconnections that could otherwise damage the camera's data port or impair its function. For direct attachment to accessories like tripods or straps with 1/4"-20 mounting, the bottom of the plate is equipped with two 1/4"-20 threaded holes.
