With the ISDN/telephone T-adapters, structured cabling systems (Cat. 5) with star topology, already installed in many offices and buildings, can be used to establish an ISDN bus cabling. There is no need to lay new cables for the ISDN system. When the adapters are removed, the star structure of all ports is restored.

For connection to the 19" patch panels and outlet sockets, the T-adapter is available in three different versions: T-Bus-Ext. PP for the patch panel side, T-Bus-Ext. Outlet for the socket side, and T-Bus Term with integrated 100 Ω termination resistors. To realize the parallel S0 bus, the adapters for the patch panel side are plugged into the panel ports and connected with patch cables.

The ISDN basic connection (NT) is connected to the first adapter on the patch panel. If T-adapters are also plugged into the outlet sockets, the number of connection possibilities is even doubled.
