Product details
Tamron has developed a powerful and portable zoom lens that covers a wide focal length range from 28mm to 300mm – the Tamron 28-300mm F/4-7.1 Di III VC VXD (Model A074). This compact lens has a filter size of 67mm, a length of just 126mm, and a lightweight of 610g, making it suitable for a variety of shooting situations such as landscapes, snapshots, portraits, sports, and travel. Thanks to this versatility, you can respond to any photographic opportunity without changing the lens or the distance to the subject.
The 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC features an optical construction with 20 elements in 13 groups, including one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), one LD (Low Dispersion), and three GM elements (Glass-Molded Aspherical), which effectively reduce chromatic aberrations and other imaging errors. As an all-in-one zoom lens for mirrorless full-frame cameras, this lens delivers exceptional image quality.
The 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is equipped with Tamron's VXD autofocus motor, which enables smooth and fast autofocus across the entire 10.7x zoom range, while the VC mechanism suppresses vibrations, ensuring stable shots. This versatile lens prepares you for a wide range of shooting situations.
The 28-300mm F4-7.1 VC is compatible with Tamron Lens Utility software. With this software, you can change lens settings, assign functions from the camera, and update the firmware if needed. Additionally, it is possible to control the functions in the mobile version via a smartphone app (Android OS) without touching the lens. You can customize the functions for different photo and video shooting styles.

- A very simple yet comfortable lens that is suitable for a wide range of applications. The AF speed is very good.
- With an aperture of f7.1 at 300 millimetres, the Tamron doesn't win a flower pot in terms of speed. It is clearly a "fair weather lens".
The (almost) 11x zoom lens is a versatile design that is suitable for photographers looking for subject flexibility for little money. Practical use will decide whether the convenience during transport and the universal application possibilities make up for the compromises in sharpness.
