Product details
The Supermarine Spitfire was a single-seat interceptor fighter that was primarily used by the Royal Air Force and many Allies during World War II. Its excellent maneuverability, developed at Supermarine Aviation Works (Vickers), Ltd. under chief designer Reginald J. Mitchell and his successors, made it very popular among pilots. More than 20,300 Spitfires of all variants were built by Supermarine and its licensees. The aircraft was deployed on all fronts throughout World War II and remained in service well into the 1950s.
