A TSA lock is a special theft protection device that secures the contents of luggage. Since 2001, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) in the U.S. has scanned and manually searched every piece of checked luggage on flights. Security personnel are authorized to break locks or use the master key for TSA locks, which only they possess.
