Twelve years ago, an epic conflict known as the Galactic War swept through the galaxy. Hoping to leave painful memories behind and seek new adventures and profit, the rogue Star-Lord gathers four more unconventional heroes to form the Guardians of the Galaxy.

On one of their first joint missions, they search in a restricted area filled with war debris for a valuable monster. Their carefree approach to exploration culminates in a bet that spectacularly goes wrong, inadvertently triggering a chain of catastrophic events.

Now, a mysterious corruption is slowly spreading across the cosmos. Star-Lord, who has left his life as a space pirate behind to lead a somewhat more honest life with the Guardians, decides that his crew will step in when no one else will.

As they travel to uncover who is behind this corruption that threatens to engulf the galaxy, the bonds between the Guardians are tested at every turn. They wanted a fresh start, and preventing an intergalactic annihilation was never part of that plan. Every family has its struggles, but fortunately, this one fights better than most.

So it falls to the Guardians of the Galaxy to save the universe in the only way they know how: full-throttle chaos until the last overpowered villain gives up. The stakes couldn't be higher, and the odds are not in their favor. What could possibly go wrong?.
