Product details

With the LilyPad Sewable Electronics Kit, you can discover the wonderful world of electronic sewing (e-sewing) and e-textiles through a series of introductory projects using the LilyPad system. You will learn how to sew basic circuits to make LEDs glow, control them with buttons and switches, and even experiment with a pre-programmed LilyMini circuit that responds to ambient light. In addition to the LilyPad LEDs and battery holders, the kit includes two LilyPad ProtoSnap boards for you to explore the circuitry before sewing the parts into a project.

The full-color LilyPad Sewable Electronics Kit instructions (included) provide step-by-step guidance for using the LilyPad parts to create four complete sewable circuit projects using conductive thread. Easy-to-follow diagrams and troubleshooting tips make this a great starter guide for crafters and creatives.

LilyPad is a wearable technology developed by Dr. Leah Buechley and designed in collaboration between Dr. Buechley and SparkFun. Each LilyPad component has been creatively designed with large seams so it can be sewn into clothing. There are different input, output, power supply, and sensor boards available. They are even washable!

Note: A portion of these sale proceeds will go to Dr. Buechley for further e-textile development and education.
