Product details
Beautiful colours from every angle and in every environment. The best place is where you are sitting. X-Anti Reflection makes images appear clearer, with fewer reflections and glare. X-Wide Angle ensures that the picture looks just as good from the side as it does from the front. Pictures like in the cinema - within your own four walls. With expertise in picture quality for home entertainment, Sony can faithfully reproduce the filmmaker's vision with Studio Calibrated modes developed in partnership with the world's leading streaming services.
Unrivalled overhead surround sound with Beam tweeters. Boundless sound. The Beam tweeter emits the sound upwards, where it is reflected from the ceiling. This makes it seem as if air effects are really coming from above. In addition, the frame tweeter makes the frame vibrate, projecting a thrilling sound to the front. Intelligent processing turns simple stereo sound into extraordinary 3D surround sound. An immersive experience. The 3D surround upscaling creates virtual surround from above and from the sides - using only the TV speakers. Even 2-channel and 5.1-channel audio becomes an immersive 5.1.2-channel sound. In addition, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support an unforgettable spatial sound. All-round sound like in the cinema, better than conventional virtual surround sound.
Groundbreaking flexibility when setting up. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates phantom speakers alongside the physical speakers for a cinema-like layout and true cinema entertainment at home. Suitable for 360 Spatial Sound Personaliser. By combining BRAVIA with the portable speaker or BRAVIA Theatre U, you can customise your Dolby Atmos and DTS:X experience for spatial sound. Also works with some Sony headphones.

Unfortunately, we have to do without a 65-inch version of the Bravia 9 on the European market, which is why the focus in this country is on home cinema sizes. The Bravia 9 in 85 inches deserves a special mention, as the QD OLED display alternative in the form of the A95L is only available up to 77 inches...
- High contrast, bright image
- Balanced, broad sound
- Large selection of apps
- Flat design with adjustable feet
- Quite high price
- Only two of the HDMI ports are fully gaming-compatible
- Dazzling brightness values
- Excellent detail resolution
- Very wide viewing angles for LCD
- Factory setting too dark
- Streaky reflections
- High energy requirement for HDR
- Extremely brilliant HDR image
- good sound
- top equipment
- Normal TV picture (SDR) somewhat dark
The Bravia 9 is a stunner, but its price and size make it an option for very few people. The Bravia 8 delivers almost as good a picture quality at a lower brightness level and with smaller screen sizes. For the same price, the Bravia 7, which is also extremely bright, is one size larger and its weaker contrast is only slightly noticeable in bright surroundings.
