Subsequently, he dedicates himself to the vision of designing the ultimate American sports car to compete with Ferrari and Porsche. He finds a suitable chassis with the British automotive designer AC Bristol. With its Ford V8 engine, the car proves to be a successful model, breaking numerous speed records. Compared to the significantly heavier Corvettes, the lightweight "muscle car" is a marvel in terms of speed, astonishing America. In 1965, the 427 is introduced: with an upgraded chassis, wider track, tires, and fenders, and equipped with a super-strong 7-liter V8 engine (427 cubic inches) that delivers an incredible 410 horsepower. Solido produces the AC Cobra in a 1:18 scale from die-cast zinc. The model features a variety of lovingly crafted details, such as opening doors and functional steering.
