Although monitoring HD video signals outdoors can be challenging, the SmallHD 703 UltraBright monitor with 2200 cd/m² of bright backlighting overcomes these environmental issues. The 7-inch 1920 x 1080 LCD display provides a sharp image, making it ideal for focusing and image analysis on set and in the field. Another advantage of the high-brightness screen is the monitor's ability to preview HDR content. The HDR preview expands the display's dynamic range to represent a greater brightness range in the image. A unibody aluminum exterior keeps the monitor robust yet lightweight and also serves as a heatsink for the internal electronics. The LCD panel itself is protected by a layer of optically bonded Gorilla Glass, known for its clarity and toughness. The optical bonding process ensures that blacks are not washed out and reduces the harshness of reflections.
