General
The RPLIDAR A2 Laser Scanner is the improved version of the 2D Lidar. The measurement system developed by SLAMTEC is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The system can perform up to 8000 measurements per second at a high rotation speed. The RPLIDAR A2 360° Laser Scanner operates at up to 600 RPM and allows for a resolution of up to 0.9°. An example of a resulting point cloud is shown below.

Control and Evaluation of Measurement Data
The control and evaluation of the measurement data is done via RS232 or USB. The image below shows the XH2.54-5P connector, which is routed out of the RPLIDAR A2 housing. A module for USB connectivity is also included in the delivery.
