The extreme field of view and a minimum focusing distance of 27cm allow for close-ups with a prominent main subject in the foreground and an impressively expansive background. On the other hand, the exceptional F1.8 aperture enables a highly resolved main subject with exquisite background bokeh. Its field of view and F1.8 aperture also make this 14mm lens excellent for capturing the night sky and other nocturnal scenes, in addition to landscape and architectural photography. The aperture provides the necessary potential to capture as much light as possible at short shutter speeds. This ability to capture moving subjects by adjusting the shutter speed rather than the ISO sensitivity helps reduce camera sensor-related image noise.
