Small, powerful, and simple. With LOGO! 8, Siemens introduces a completely new generation of logic modules to the market. It meets nearly all customer demands with simplified handling. From lighting control in private homes to remote access via tablet PCs or smartphones and SMS alerts, the LOGO! logic module series has already impressed many users with its straightforward project planning and operation. With LOGO! 8, the Siemens Industry Automation division launches an entirely new generation of devices. All LOGO! 8 base units now offer Ethernet communication, enhanced functionality for remote operation and access via web server, as well as easy project planning of communication functions through drag & drop. The compact design of 72 millimeters (4 TE) saves space in the sub-distribution board. The six-line display, with 16 characters per line and three controllable background colors, provides clear operator information with distinct signal colors. The six-line external text display, featuring 20 characters per line, additionally offers four function keys and connects to the base unit via Ethernet. A LOGO! 8 can be supplemented as needed with seven digital, three analog, and various power supply modules. For building Ethernet networks, there is a switch module, and for alerting and remote control via SMS, a new LOGO! 8-CMR module. This module can also determine its position via the GPS channel and perform automatic time synchronization. Monitoring and controlling LOGO! 8 over WLAN and the Internet is particularly easy for users with the integrated web server. Web pages displaying the LOGO! and the external text display can be accessed through all common web browsers on PCs, smartphones, and tablet PCs. Setup is done using the LOGO! Soft Comfort V8 software without any knowledge of HTML programming. The LOGO! 8 is compatible with previous versions.
