Product details
The SM58 is suitable for both the demanding beginner and the professional. It is used on all stage sizes - from club gigs to large open-air stages. This extremely durable microphone has been delivering reliable performance on stage and in the studio for over 40 years.
Why is the SM58 so popular? For one, there is the unique sound: it is exceptionally powerful and clear. The frequency response is optimized so that the voice stands out excellently in the band mix without any adjustments at the mixing console EQ. The consistent cardioid pattern isolates it very well from background noise and makes it feedback-resistant, even on loud stages. Additionally, its remarkable robustness is worth highlighting: an SM58 can handle almost anything and withstands even the toughest stage use.
Where does its legendary status come from? Introduced in 1966, the SM58 quickly became the worldwide standard among vocal microphones. More than 40 years later, it is still the best-selling professional vocal microphone. Every sound engineer and musician has likely worked with an SM58 at some point.
Also in the studio or for home recording? The SM58 is not only used on stage; many professional studio albums have also been recorded with the SM58. For home recording on a PC or Mac, we recommend the SM58+X2u Digital Bundle.
The exact product name of the SM58 offered in Europe is SM58LCE (Less Cable Europe). Europe means that the 5/8" to 3/8" threaded adapter for microphone stands is included. The SM58LC variant (without the threaded adapter) is not available in Europe. However, the "E" in the product name is often overlooked. The SM58SE has an on/off switch and also includes the 5/8" to 3/8" threaded adapter.
