Product details
The KSM9 is the premium microphone for speech and vocals on stage. Its high-quality technology ensures the most demanding sound in studio quality. It was the first live vocal microphone with a dual diaphragm and switchable polar patterns (cardioid and supercardioid) for perfect voice reproduction.
What are the advantages of the dual diaphragm?
It provides a particularly consistent polar pattern across the entire frequency range, resulting in extreme feedback resistance. The reduced proximity effect allows for an exceptionally clear and clean signal. The option for switchable polar patterns (cardioid and supercardioid on the KSM9).
How does the KSM9 sound?
The sound is extremely clear, detailed, and natural. The high dynamic range and low self-noise enable the reproduction of even the faintest nuances of the voice. The reduced proximity effect ensures a particularly clean signal in the lower frequencies. The three-stage hardened grille with integrated pop filter minimizes unwanted breath and wind noise.
Switching between cardioid and supercardioid
Under the grille, which can be easily unscrewed, is the switch for toggling between cardioid and supercardioid patterns. This is also the difference from the KSM9HS, which allows switching between wide cardioid and hypercardioid. Both microphones can be flexibly adjusted in seconds depending on the stage and monitor setup or user preferences.
Studio sound robust enough for the stage?
Like all Shure products, the KSM9 is extremely robust and roadworthy. The hardened grille and metal die-cast housing easily withstand the rigors of stage life.
Recording on a computer
The KSM9 also delivers excellent results for recordings. For digital recordings directly on a computer, it can be quickly and easily connected to the USB port of a computer using the X2u XLR-to-USB interface.
