The Apollo by Sendy Audio is definitely a feast for the eyes with its ear cups made of rosewood and star-shaped steel mesh. It also offers a lot in terms of sound: the magnetostatic drivers provide natural, smooth vocals, deep, solid bass, clear highs, and a transparent, accurate soundstage. The Apollo plays with a crisp tempo and powerful bass. The planar-magnetic drivers in Quad-Former design consist of double magnets with double coils, ensuring excellent electroacoustic energy conversion, resulting in a distortion-free, lifelike sound with plenty of energy and dynamics. The cutouts for the cable connections are carved from the wood piece itself and not glued or added in any other way, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship. The wood of the ear cups is polished, sandblasted, and then lacquered, giving it a particularly luxurious appearance. The headband is adjustable in size, and the soft band made of goat leather rests lightly and comfortably on the head. The shell-shaped ear cushions filled with memory foam gently envelop the ear without applying uncomfortable pressure. Weighing in at 395 grams, the Apollo is relatively light for a magnetostatic headphone and can be worn for several hours without discomfort. The braided headphone cable is equipped with a symmetrical 4.4 mm plug, and a 4.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter is included. A beautiful black case for storing and transporting the Apollo headphones is also provided.
