It has a medium range of approximately 700 meters and a battery life of about 8 hours, depending on usage. The SMH5 is charged via a USB charging cable (Micro-USB), which can also be used to connect to a PC or Mac. When connected to a computer, you can make settings adjustments and perform software updates on the device. In addition to functioning as an intercom, the SMH5 can also be paired with navigation devices, smartphones, or Bluetooth-enabled MP3 players. This allows the user to receive navigation prompts or listen to their favorite music directly in the helmet. One function does not exclude the other. You can simultaneously pair up to 3 communication partners (a total of 4 - no conference call), a GPS navigation device, and an MP3 player or smartphone. The built-in priority management then automatically determines which audio source is currently optimal or important.
