Product details
The sE4400a is the largest model in the series that originates from the sE2200a. Based on the same capsule tuning but featuring a dual diaphragm, this microphone offers a selection of polar patterns. It provides four different characteristics: omnidirectional, cardioid, hypercardioid, and figure-eight, along with a low-cut filter with two selectable frequencies (60 Hz and 120 Hz) and a two-stage switchable pad (10 dB / 20 dB). Despite its compact size, the housing contains a 1" dual diaphragm and high-quality electronics and switches. The flat, rounded housing design allows the microphone to be positioned close to a guitar cabinet or even flat over a drumhead. It is also perfect for vocals or voiceovers. With a thickness of less than 3/4" (approximately 1.9 cm), it is extremely slim and fits comfortably in the hand.
The sE4400a features a black, reflection- and contour-reducing rubberized finish, making it ideal for stage, theater, TV, and broadcast applications where lighting plays a significant role.
Finally, the capsule has been tuned after two years of intensive testing in professional studios and broadcast environments to provide what only a few microphones can offer: to be a true all-rounder. This is important in professional studio settings or in broadcasting, where an engineer must rely on the microphone to handle any task.
Equally valuable is its versatility for home studio operators who need a microphone that can adapt to various recording situations for financial reasons. The sE4400a delivers just that, impressing with its soft and flattering sound. Like all sE microphones, the capsules are handcrafted and individually tuned. Included in the accessories is the elastic suspension Shock44, which also allows for mounting in tight spaces. A steel-reinforced black aluminum transport case is also part of the package.
