Product details
The lens is designed for cameras with a 35mm full-frame sensor for photo and video shooting. It is the brightest lens of its kind and is tailored for DSLR cameras with a high pixel count. The compact 14mm Samyang wide-angle lens creates unique shots, offering wider images compared to standard lenses at the same subject distance. This lens is suitable for the entire spectrum of wide-angle photography, particularly for landscape photography and indoor shooting. The distinct impression of depth in wide-angle shots allows for creative photography. With a short focal length and a closest focusing distance of just 28cm, this manually focusable wide-angle lens is particularly effective for sharp and high-contrast images from a short distance.
The outstanding imaging performance is attributed to the sophisticated optical system, which consists of 14 groups with 18 lenses, setting new standards. Noteworthy features include two aspherical lenses, one aspherical hybrid lens, two ED lenses, and three HR lenses. These high-precision aspherical and high-refractive lenses minimize various aberrations, resulting in a clear image. The lens excels in distortion correction and provides excellent resolution at both the center and edges. The lens hood also prevents unwanted side light incidence and lens reflections that could lead to a loss of contrast.
A chip built into the lens enables compatibility with exposure or program automatic settings. Additionally, EXIF data such as aperture, ISO value, and exposure time are transferred, saving time in post-processing. Many lens errors, such as distortion, edge blur, or vignetting, typically occur in the outer areas of the image. When using a lens designed for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not utilized, ensuring maximum quality without the need for additional post-processing to correct lens errors.
