Product details
Samyang introduces a new VDSLR MK2 series equipped with weather protection, dual-sided labeled focal lengths, a sleek design, and 9 aperture blades. This groundbreaking series of film lenses, which inherits Samyang's incredible video quality, will help independent filmmakers and low-budget directors expand their creative horizons and is their first film lens.
The compact size of Samyang's VDSLR lenses makes them perfect for handheld and gimbal shots. The VDSLR 50mm T1.5 MK2 is only 7.47 cm long and weighs just 525.8 g, yet it is fully equipped with de-clicked aperture and focus gear rings. The large depth of field range of over 130° allows cinematographers to focus on their subjects precisely and accurately, making the footage appear more professional than with autofocus photo lenses.
Despite their compact size, the VDSLR MK2 lenses cover full-frame sensors (36x24 mm) and are suitable for high-quality video production. This new series inherits the excellent image quality of the previous series: all 5 lenses are equipped with aspherical lens elements to reduce spherical and optical aberrations, producing clear and vibrant images. The 50mm model also features an aspherical hybrid element to maintain its compact size without compromising performance.
For independent filmmakers, a versatile lens saves time and money. The Samyang VDSLR MK2 series features a fast T1.5 aperture across all 5 models, allowing filmmakers to focus more on the scene and creativity without worrying about image quality, even in low-light situations. Additionally, the shallow depth of field allows the background to fade away and highlights the subject, adding more depth to the story.
