Discover powerful performance with PCIe 4.0 and experience blazing speed to take on the competition. The intelligent thermal regulation of the Samsung controller offers high energy efficiency with consistently high speed and performance. So nothing stands in the way of gaming fun.

Get blazing speed for your gaming experience as well as for video and 3D editing, data analysis and more. Because thanks to PCIe, performance is customised: With 40% and 55% faster random read and write speeds compared to the 980 PRO, up to 1,400 K / 1,550 K IOPS and sequential read/write speeds of up to 7,450 / 6,900 MB/s.

Higher performance often consumes more power. Not with the 990 PRO. Experience low power consumption with over 50% more performance per watt than its predecessor.

The nickel-plated controller and the state-of-the-art thermal control algorithm regulate the heat and thus enable unrestricted performance. The heatspreader label controls the heat of the NAND chip, while Dynamic Thermal Guard technology regulates temperatures.

Your gaming fun is catapulted into far-reaching spheres. A performance improvement of more than 55% compared to the previous model enables faster loading for a more authentic gaming experience of Playstation 5 and PC games with Direct Storage function.

Advanced drive management made easy with Samsung Magician software. The user-friendly software solution helps you to always keep an eye on your SSD. It allows you to keep your drive up to date with updates, monitor status parameters and speed, and even optimise performance.

Screw not included in the scope of delivery.

Read transfer speed

The read rate determines how fast the data on the storage medium can be read or transferred by a computer.

Write transfer speed

Data transfer rate or just transfer rate is the average number of bits, characters, or blocks per unit time passing between equipment in a data transmission system.

Max. random 4K read

This key figure indicates how many small file blocks (4 kilobytes) can be read from the SSD per second. A higher value means faster response times when starting programmes and loading files in everyday use.

Max. random 4K write

This key figure shows how many small file blocks (4 kilobytes) can be written to the SSD per second. A higher value ensures smoother work when saving files or installing software.
