Among the 2.5-inch SSDs, the Samsung 870 QVO took first place with very high speed and very good programme acceleration. The Samsung 980 PRO 2TB shines in the test with very strong performance values, above all with excellent read performance. With 2,000 GBytes, the M.2 SSD also offers a decent capacity. The memory bar does not require a heat sink, supports PCIe 4.0 and the price-performance ratio is excellent for the capacity.

The Samsung SSD 980 Pro can be recommended as a secondary storage device if you can find it for well under 300 euros.

The differences in the synthetic measurements are large, but they blur in the practical benchmarks. A fast and expensive SSD is only worthwhile if you also use it, for a simple office PC a cheap SSD with PCIe 3.0 is sufficient.
