Samson MD1

The Samson MD1 Mono Passive Direct Box combines top-notch sound circuitry with a rugged, roadworthy construction, providing high-quality signal connection solutions for a variety of live sound and recording applications. With the MD1, clean, balanced lines can be sent from an unbalanced line or instrument signal to a balanced microphone-level input. The Samson STL transformer delivers an extended, flat frequency response with extremely low distortion. The balanced output of the MD1 provides a clean signal that is less susceptible to interference than an unbalanced line, allowing for longer cable runs. Through the Thru jack of the MD1, you can monitor the signal from the input and send it to an amplifier or monitor without affecting the original audio. This can make microphone preamps unnecessary, which may be preferable depending on the application, especially as more musicians use in-ear monitors. The MD1 is housed in a 14-gauge steel casing that withstands the rigors of the most demanding live tours. The sturdy outer shell protects all internal connections, switches, and solder joints of the MD1 from failure, ensuring quiet and reliable performance.
