Always designed as 4-stroke, they come in a black casing with a golden valve cover or simply in a silver casing. Later, modern large-displacement gasoline engines with various cylinder configurations followed. Again, all in the characteristic 4-stroke design of Saito. These new gasoline engines quickly became very popular, as they were considered powerful and reliable from the very beginning. Gasoline engines have a lower fuel consumption compared to glow plug engines, and the fuel is also significantly cheaper. The electronic ignition allows for starting the engines without a glow plug device, greatly improving user comfort compared to earlier engines.
