The lavalier foam is a discreet, attachable foam windscreen that protects personal microphones from light wind and popping noises. Lavalier foam windscreens are made from durable, high-quality acoustic foam with open cells and dampen pop and wind sounds by up to 20 dB, without causing simultaneous losses at high frequencies. This high-quality foam has been exclusively developed for Rycote and also offers excellent resistance to the harmful effects of moisture and UV light. The new neoprene-coated foams are designed to repel water in light rain.
