Rycote Grey Ristretto Lavalier Windjammer pair

Tie clip or lavalier microphones are ideal for discreet use in broadcast interview situations, as their compact dimensions ensure they do not draw attention away from the camera. Due to their handy size, they are even used by some broadcast and television technicians, although their appearance is not an issue in this medium.

In studio environments, lavalier microphones are typically used without foam windshields, but when recording interviews outdoors, they are just as susceptible to the detrimental effects of wind as any other microphone, and a windscreen is necessary to prevent the wind from making the interview sound inaudible.

Rycote has been producing a popular lavalier windjammer for many years and continues to do so. In recognition of the fact that most broadcasters today prefer their microphones to remain as unobtrusive as possible, a revised version of this windjammer has now been added to Rycote's product line, which is more discreet in front of the camera.

The fur of the new Ristretto, as it is called, is significantly shorter than that of Rycote's existing lavalier windjammer. Like the existing lavalier windjammer from Rycote, the Ristretto is also attached to its microphone with a foam connector, but both products have now been equipped with a rubber ring to ensure better grip and durability.
