The Softie windscreen provides a fast, simple, robust and cost effective windscreen for the harsh environment of modern ENG and site recording.

The Softie Windshield is an expanded open cell foam with an integrated fur cover. The Softie reduces wind noise, protects your microphone and is the standard in television worldwide. Softie windshields are available in a variety of sizes to fit most popular shotgun microphones.

Both the acoustic foam and the synthetic fur are made from materials specifically designed and manufactured for this purpose. This provides up to 25 dB reduction in wind noise without compromising the high frequency. In addition, the foam is not susceptible to UV or moisture damage, giving this product a long life.

Modern materials, adhesives and assembly techniques make the Softie an extremely robust product that provides excellent wind protection in harsh environments.

The Softie windshield can be purchased either individually or as part of a kit that includes a windshield, Lyre shock mount and pistol grip.

Softie Windshields come in two different fur lengths: classic and short hair. The short hair Softie, referred to as the Camera-Mounted Softie, features close-cropped dark gray synthetic fur, offers a lower profile and a more compact design without significantly compromising the Softie's efficiency. It can also be mounted near the camera lens without causing unwanted shadows.
