Flexible, flame-retardant heat shrink tubing with an internally bonded adhesive layer for permanent encapsulation as protection against moisture. The heat shrink tubing can be used in a variety of applications, such as electrical wire splices, cable jackets, wire branches, strain relief, and protective sleeves for electrical components. The tubing is made from irradiated polyolefin material and features a special adhesive coating on the inner wall that melts when heat is applied and is pressed into the joints of the component due to the shrinkage of the outer wall. After cooling, the tubing becomes a semi-flexible, highly homogeneous encapsulation material with controlled wall thickness.
