The flexible, flame-retardant heat shrink tubing with an internally bonded adhesive layer provides lasting protection against moisture. It can be used in a variety of applications, such as electrical wire splicing, cable jackets, wire branching, strain reliefs, and protective sleeves for electrical components. The tubing is made from irradiated polyolefin material and features a special adhesive coating on the inner wall that melts when exposed to heat and is pressed into the joints of the component. After cooling, a semi-flexible, homogeneous encapsulation material with controlled wall thickness is formed.
