The Danish designer originally created this table clock for the manufacturer Lauritz Knudsen in 1939, featuring a hand-wound movement typical of that time, but made from a novel material called plastic. The round clock case rests on a graceful arch made of stainless steel. As an upgrade to the original, the Danish manufacturer Rosendahl now equips each table clock with a modern quartz movement (AA 1.5V battery, not included), which reliably wakes you without the need for daily winding. Instead of a clanging metal bell, it features an electronic chime that gently increases in volume. Additionally, the modern version of this classic includes a backlit dial with a sensor switch and a snooze function. Rosendahl offers the Arne Jacobsen alarm clock with different dials: The "Bankers" dial, designed in 1971 for the Danish National Bank, does not show simple hour markers but counts the hours with a series of small boxes.
