L.A. Noire is set in the criminal underworld of 1940s Los Angeles and tells the story of decorated war veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps, who investigates a series of cases that expand in scope and are inspired by real crimes.

Each successfully solved case advances Phelps in his career but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war Los Angeles.
