Product details
The ROBOTIS OpenCM 485 Expansion Board has been developed for controlling Dynamixel servomotors. With the powerful, optionally available OpenCM9.04-A / OpenCM9.04-C development board, which is based on an ARM Cortex-M3 MCU, demanding tasks can be handled effortlessly. Nevertheless, the combination of OpenCM 485 and OpenCM9.04 has very compact dimensions, allowing for smarter development and redesign of automation processes.
Many of the Dynamixel controller boards available on the market either feature a TTL interface for controlling the popular AX/MX/X series or RS485 for the higher-priced Dynamixel Pro servomotors. In contrast, the OpenCM9.04 development board offers both interfaces, providing significant flexibility.
The OpenCM 485 Expansion Board serves merely as the peripheral between the actuators and sensors, while the evaluation and control are managed by the OpenCM 9.04 controller board. This board includes a Micro USB port for easy programming and implementation, as well as a powerful 72 MHz ARM Cortex M3 MCU, which is designed with 128 Kbytes of flash memory for demanding algorithms.
Due to different connector systems, a so-called Convertible Cable is required for controlling the X series, which connects the OpenCM Expansion Board to the servomotor.
