R&Mclassic Cat. 6A patch cables are used to connect network devices to patch panels and telecommunications sockets. They are suitable for frequencies of up to 500 MHz. Category 6A. Category 6 augmented (Cat 6A) is a standard that arises from the increased bandwidth requirements of 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10 GBASE-T). Cat 6A cables are designed for transmission frequencies up to 500 MHz and lengths up to 100 m, and are backward compatible with existing categories. Halogen-free sheath. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogenated combustion gases is thus excluded, and smoke generation is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and do not exhibit a dangerous ignition cord effect. Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP). Screened Foiled Twisted Pair (S/FTP) refers to cables that have a metallic shield around each pair of wires (FTP) and additionally a metallic overall shield (S). Shielded cables exhibit minimal impedance or reactance deviations compared to unshielded cables. The transmission parameters remain relatively constant and better at high frequencies than with UTP cables.
