Rainer Maria Rilke is one of the most translated German-speaking authors worldwide and still has a large fan base today. Prominent figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Gerhard Schröder, Oliver Kahn, and Lady Gaga have all been impressed by his texts. His poems are even available in their own app. Despite his death over 80 years ago, Rilke remains relevant and is regarded as a classic. His poetic art continues to touch people in the 21st century, making him one of the most significant writers of modern times.

Melanie Garanin, born in 1972, studied animation in Potsdam-Babelsberg and has illustrated numerous children's and young adult books for various publishers. For Carlsen Verlag, she illustrated all eight volumes of the children's book series "Pippa Pepperkorn" by Charlotte Habersack. Since she began working on her first graphic novel in 2017, she has identified herself as a comic artist and prefers to do nothing else. She lives with her family and a bunch of animals near Berlin.
