RØDE VideoMic ME-C

A compact, nearly 8 cm long mono directional microphone that significantly enhances audio quality for audio and video recordings. It works with all smartphones that have a USB-C port and run Android 10 or newer. The VideoMic Me-C connects directly to the smartphone with its integrated USB-C connector, which can be oriented either forward or towards the user. A special mounting clip is included to ensure that the VideoMic Me-C stays securely in place.

The 1/2" microphone capsule of the VideoMic Me-C has a pickup angle of 90°. When you open both hands at a right angle in front of you, you can easily see which sound sources are within the recording area. As a mono directional microphone, the VideoMic Me-C is primarily recommended for voice recordings, as well as for any other sound sources that are in front of or within the frame. Sound coming from the sides and behind is largely ignored by the VideoMic Me-C.

Pre-amplification and digital conversion (24 Bit/48 kHz) are performed at a high quality directly within the VideoMic Me-C itself. The recording signal is transmitted digitally, elegantly bypassing the smartphone's built-in preamplifier. A practical feature is the built-in 3.5 mm headphone jack on the back. If the app allows it, you can monitor the audio while recording; in any case, it saves you the hassle of switching between microphone and headphones.

The robust aluminum housing makes the VideoMic Me-C resistant to interference, and the scratch-resistant ceramic coating ensures that it still looks good after years of use. Included in the package is the WS9 deluxe windscreen, which can be quickly attached for outdoor recordings. The WS9 features a thick foam layer inside and prevents typical wind noise up to wind force 5 with its faux fur covering.
