Like the NT5, the RØDE NT55 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone. In addition to its well-known features, it offers a pad (0, –10 dB, –20 dB) and a low-cut filter (off, 75 Hz, 150 Hz). A NT45-O capsule with an omnidirectional pattern is also included. It is preferred for capturing acoustic instruments, as a drum overhead, for cymbals, and live applications. This externally polarized microphone is equipped with a 1/2” capsule and an active J-FET impedance converter with a dual-output buffer. Its narrow cardioid pattern is also suitable for dialogue recording using a microphone stand or boom in the film studio. The NT55 has a satin nickel housing and is also available as an acoustically matched pair. The NT55 is manufactured in Australia and allows for a free extension of the RØDE warranty to 10 years.
