Product details
An incredibly versatile studio microphone: The polar pattern, high-pass filter, and pad can each be switched in three stages on the microphone body. The self-noise of the NT2-A is an astonishingly low 7 dBA. The ultra-fine (5 µm), gold-sputtered, and elastically suspended dual diaphragm "HF-1" is a proprietary development by RØDE, allowing the NT2-A to operate as a cardioid, omnidirectional, or figure-8 microphone. The NT2-A captures sound sources with the silky, warm charm reminiscent of cult microphones from the 1950s and 60s. It is therefore wonderful for vocals, woodwinds, strings, and guitars. The high maximum sound pressure level (157 dB) also makes this microphone ideal for brass instruments, guitar amplifiers, as an overhead mic, and for capturing a concert grand piano. With the NT2-A, you truly have something substantial in your hands (860 g); the craftsmanship is impeccable, the grille is made of heat-treated steel wire, and the satin-nickel metal housing is not only extremely robust but also looks elegant. In 2006, the NT2-A received the MIPA award for Best Studio Microphone and the Editor's Choice Award from "Electronic Musicians" magazine.
