The Interview PRO uses a high-quality condenser capsule, typically with a omnidirectional pickup pattern. The advantage: The microphone has no proximity effect, meaning there is no significant boost in low frequencies at close microphone distances. In practice, this allows for variation during recording without drastically changing the sound. As an "omni," the microphone is sensitive to sound from all directions, so unlike a cardioid microphone, it doesn't need to be perfectly aligned with the sound source – the Interview PRO is very forgiving if the interview partner moves their head.

GainAssist technology is very helpful: an intelligent automatic gain control that continuously adjusts the internal gain setting of the microphone to the respective sound source. This way, you are protected from surprises, and the audio signal is always transmitted or recorded at a healthy level with optimal intelligibility. The maximum sound pressure level is a robust 122 dB, meaning you can record even very loud interview partners without risking distortion.
