like it much more than i expected
I've had Tascam recorders for ages and was reluctant to get into Zoom, even after using H1n's and H4n's for years. Brand loyalty, maybe. I recently bought this to replace my Tascam DR-40 + GoPro setup that I normally run with in an effort to downsize. I'm incredibly happy with the purchase. Webcam functionality works great. Picture quality is good for what it is, and perfect for my own personal needs (which are mostly audio). Really happy with the microphones you can buy for this, and gives me much less that I need to carry around e.g. third-party mics, XLR cables etc.
My only concern is that I feel like moving parts are a liability and both the LCD screen hinge and the microphone pivot feel like after a year of use they're going to be pretty worn out. I'd love it to be a little more durable feeling. Other than that, really happy with this overall.

Cool tool - good microphones
Bought the Zoom Q8n 4K for a live performance of three bands.
With a 256Gb Micro SD I was able to run the camera all evening and record everything seamlessly.
As the battery wasn't designed for 6 hours, I powered it with a 20,000Gb power bank via USB C. This worked great.
This worked really well.
I also fed a stereo signal from the mix via XLR from the mixer and with the integrated stereo microphone 4 audio tracks, which made it easier to shape the sound afterwards.
I'm sure there's always room for improvement in terms of sound, but I'm happy with the sound and the video.
