HDMI to DisplayPort is not that simple. The formats are only compatible under certain circumstances. Reading up on the topic beforehand protects you from making the wrong purchase. Now I know.

Totally great device, even allows switching computers over the keyboard that makes much more sense than using remote. This is handy when the switch itself is in some place difficult to reach.
I have no any reliability issues: mouse, keyboard and the the two 2560x1440 monitors work perfectly as expected.

Since I work in the field, I work from home. I got the switch through my employer so that I can simply switch from my work laptop to my home laptop in the evening and don't always have to reconnect everything. Unfortunately, I now have to say that the effort and the additional cables with all the cabling are not worth it, even if the employer pays the costs.
Sometimes the two screens no longer react after a change. Sometimes not even if you start only one computer. Then it can happen that it flickers for 2 minutes. If I take a break and come back 15 minutes later, I never get a picture again. Nothing helps, except unplugging it.
Don't even get me started on the mouse and keyboard...
Even if you follow the instructions exactly and try it with the hotkey, it doesn't work properly.
Whoever got such a switch, it's not you, the box is just crap.

Works as advertised and I have absolutely no issue with it.

Really sobering - but probably still the best KVM switch on the market if you need 144Hz. Reliability of features is tragic though.
