Only works with an affiliated bookseller
I bought the e-reader directly from the bookseller. But still want to warn on this page.
I failed to authorize the device with Adope, which is necessary to read books that are DRM encrypted. Have replaced the device, the problem remains. So it is not due to a specific device. You can read books, even encrypted ones, that you buy through an affiliated bookseller and then download using the "tolino library". But it is not possible to read books that you bought earlier and are encrypted, even if you upload them to tolino and then download them from there to your device. Neither the bookseller, nor tolino, nor Adobe are able to help.
Adobe sent me the following link, so the problem has been there before (with a different type of device and library). The error message is the same as on my device.

Unfortunately, it is not mentioned anywhere that the Weltbild shop is pre-installed. Unfortunately, this cannot be removed.
We then sent the device back. However, the full purchase price is not refunded as it has already been opened. But you can't know beforehand that there is no other option for installing the shop.Contra

Fixed branding on a bookseller
After consulting my preferred bookseller, I received the following info:
"Rebranding the default bookseller/shop on the tolino is not possible. tolinos are branded to a bookseller in production and this can no longer be changed."
It looks like I can't use all the offers of my preferred retailer as a result.
Such a stipulation would have to be clearly declared by the seller.Contra

Top e-reader
Great device, was a bit disappointed with the battery in standby mode. If you forget to switch off the device and want to read something again after 2-3 weeks, you have to charge it first. Don't understand the battery consumption.
