Rug Gear RG725
32 GB, Black, 4", Dual SIM, 13 Mpx, 4G
- I have owned 5 "rugged phones" in the past, including 3 Carterpilar, a Kiocera and a Samsung.
- On paper, this RugGear looked like it would improve on all of them, but it is just the opposite.
- This mobile does not fulfill its many promises. Wort than that, it is dangerous if you use it outdoor.
- I do high mountaineering and Kitesurf-crossing. Hence I need a phone that works in water, with gloves, that has reliable physical buttons and toogles (touchscreens dont work well with gloves by -30c.).
After 3 days of use in Brazil, with only occasional exposure to water:
- the mike stopped working, so I could not speak to anybody
- the channel toogle was stuck, so I could not turn it anymore
- the phone stopped recharging because it told me that it was "too cold" for the battry... that is when in Brazil!!! How will it work when I am at 4000m+ mountains??
IMO, this thing is made to replace radios for teams working in catering or securiy in the cities. But do NOT take it outdoor, you cannot trust it, you may die because it will not be working when you need it most!
