  The reception quality and sound in the 8-year-old Clio has improved significantly

  The hands-free function does exactly what is expected of it.
  The sound of the device is impeccable.
  Certain operating functions are not optimally chosen:
  - Rotary knob
  - DAB programme selection
  
  Rotary knob:
  Pressing the large rotary knob takes you to the settings. When adjusting the volume, it therefore happens from time to time that you end up in the settings by accidentally pressing it when adjusting the volume.
  
  DAB programme selection:
  Only the selection of a DAB programme is very awkward. If they are not on the speed dial buttons, you cannot do this while driving. It is simply too complicated.
  There are frequency bands for broadcasting DAB programmes. These are divided into channels. A channel contains several programmes.
  Modern DAB receivers find all programmes in the channels of the frequency band and display them sorted. The DEH-X7800DAB can only display programmes from one channel at a time. If you want programmes from another channel, you must first change the channel. Stored programmes can, however, be in different channels. Unfortunately, there are only six of these for DAB. In FM radio, there are three times six available.

  Great device, I would buy again!

  After the demise of my Blaupunkt radio, I decided to buy this DEH-X7800DAB. The unit is easy to install and works perfectly. The only thing that was a bit tricky was attaching the external microphone and the DAB antenna. However, this is not due to the unit but rather to the fact that I wanted to keep all the cables as invisible as possible under the casing. The sound quality is very good for what I expect. Unfortunately, when I really want to turn up the volume, my speakers (original built-in speakers) quickly reach their limits. Devices that are connected via the front USB are charged at the same time. The connection with my iPhone5 worked quickly. With the ARC APP from pioneer, the stored music can be easily operated. Music from other apps is transferred via BT, tracks are displayed on the radio. Phone calls work perfectly via the external microphone. DAB reception is very good in my region (Bern).
  After I had installed and set up everything, I noticed that I could update the software. yay, I did it immediately, everything worked. But unfortunately all the settings I had made before were gone! So be sure to do the update right at the beginning!
